What is PRF BioFiller?
PRF BioFiller combines the benefits of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) — which is the next-generation alternative to platelet rich plasma (PRP) — with a protein matrix that is also derived from your own blood, allowing for volumization that lasts much longer than PRF/PRP injections alone. This allows PRF BioFiller to act much like a conventional dermal filler, but without any synthetic ingredients or additives. That means you can get many of the wonderful benefits of filler but with a 100% natural treatment!
How does PRF BioFiller work?
PRF BioFiller is created using proteins and compounds from your own blood. The process begins by drawing a small amount of your blood. We take half of the drawn blood and spin it in a specialized centrifuge to separate the PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) from the rest of the blood, and then centrifuge the other half to separate out the Albumin, which is a protein contained in your blood serum. The Albumin is then heated to a precise temperature to allow the proteins to unfold, then naturally refold into a different arrangement, which forms a gel-like substance. This Albumin gel is then mixed with your PRF at a specified ratio to form PRF BioFiller. Nothing is added to this solution — only the two parts of your blood.
Once your PRF BioFiller is prepared, it can be injected just like a conventional filler or biostimulator would be. We recommend 2-3 treatments of PRF BioFiller, depending on your anatomy and your specific concerns and goals. Each treatment is typically spaced about 6 weeks apart for optimal results, with annual maintenance recommended.
After injection, you will notice an immediate improvement in volume in the areas treated. Over the next several weeks, the PRF BioFiller will slowly integrate into your tissue, providing a slow release of growth factors for a naturally rejuvenated appearance.
What is the process for PRF BioFiller treatments?
First, you will come in for a consultation with one of our experienced injectors to discuss your goals and the details of the treatment. The injector will assess your condition and create a treatment plan accordingly.
Before the the treatment, the area is numbed with a topical numbing cream and your blood is drawn. While you are numbing, your blood will be processed into PRF BioFiller, which is then strategically injected into your areas of concern. The procedure typically takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on your unique anatomy and the area being treated.
After the injections, the area may be massaged as needed to ensure even distribution. You can go back to your regular activities right away, although you may experience some swelling or bruising for a few days.
Typically, the treatment will be repeated about 6-8 weeks later for best results. While 2-3 treatments is common, the number of treatments will vary based on your individual case and goals. Volumization can be seen immediately. The PRF BioFiller will begin to integrate into your tissue over the following several weeks, and after this time, the extended-release growth factors will begin to release, stimulating.
