No Downtime

A simple, no down-time solution for sun and age spots.

IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, uses light energy to selectively target pigmented spots within the skin. IPL selectively heats the spots, without heating up surrounding tissue. The heated pigment is lifted to the surface of the skin and is then naturally removed through the skin turnover process.

Improves red areas and rosacea-related redness.

IPL can also be used to improve red areas and rosacea caused by tiny capillaries present just below the surface of the skin. By heating the capillaries and causing microcoagulation, blood will no longer flow through the capillaries, thus reducing the red appearance of the skin.

IPL FAQs

How long do the results last?

For sun spots and age spots, the effects of the treatment are considered permanent, however, in the case of sunspots, sun exposure will stimulate the production of new spots. New age spots can also appear as you continue to age. Similarly for redness, the treated capillaries will not return but new ones may form. We recommend maintenance treatments for long-term results.

How quickly will I see results from IPL?

Results can be seen within just a couple sessions. Your aesthetic care coordinator, along with your treatment provider, will determine how many sessions are needed for optimal results.

Are IPL treatments painful?

IPL treatments typically feel like the skin is being gently pinched. We apply a topical numbing cream to minimize any discomfort.
